Coralyne Taylor (she/her) is from a small coastal town in Northern California and is pursuing a BFA at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. After her first year at SAIC, she was nominated for and awarded the Core Practices Scholarship. While studying Visual Communications and Print, she practices many mediums including book arts and fiber arts. Coralyne is deeply influenced by the relationship of her memories and experience to nature. Her work is nostalgic, tedious, and slow, in both the way it is created and the intent for viewing. As a multimedia artist, she gravitates towards artist books as a way to combine her work into one tactile piece, often using personal and family archives as a way to archive her lived experiences. The space formed between her work and the viewer is intimate and reflective.
